Earlier this week on Wed ( 11/17/10 ) I had the pleasure of seeing Cloud Cult play again, a band that I have become to love and appreciate in the past year. It's one of those finds that you wish you had known about from the beginning of time, because it's simply just that, amazing. And for that, i have to thank my friend Keri who introduced them to me. I can't thank her enough!!
The show was the official CD release party for Light Chasers which has been out officially since September 14th, but was released digitally back in June from their website. The band had touring the country the past couple months and came home to Minneapolis for the final 2 shows of the leg. That of which they announced after a couple songs, along with a "they had no idea who we were" story, that tonight they would be receiving a First Ave Star! Much deserved!
The show was more of a favorties/hits show rather than a CD release party for Light Chasers. They did perform a few songs from the album, Unexplainable Stories, Running with the Wolves, Today we give ourselves to the fire, There's So Much Energy In Us, and Exploding People(which btw is the most awesome song performed live that they do!). But yes they pulled out songs from all albums, the 2 months of touring and practice and the excitement over the star could be seen by all members, CC had it together near perfect the entire night. It was a show not to be missed for any fan. So with that, congratulations Cloud Cult! Keep doing what you do and touching the hearts and souls of everyone who listens!
